Important aspects when buying a tractor

Tractor is a multifunctional piece of equipment used in agriculture all year round. It is an integral assistant during field work and, using various devices, can be used at construction, municipal or industrial sites. When purchasing a tractor, it is important to determine its main characteristics and the expected range of work.

In Ukraine, to assess the power of a tractor, the nominal traction force is used, depending on the type of suspension system and operating weight. This parameter determines the possibility of aggregating the tractor with various trailed equipment.

Tractor classification

1. By purpose:

– General purpose tractors. designed for plowing, cultivation and sowing.

– Universal row-crop tractors.

– Specialized tractors. used for growing special crops (for example, cotton, tea) or in non-standard conditions (mountains, swamps).

2. By wheel type:

– Wheeled tractors. with two or four driving wheels to improve cross-country ability.

– Crawler tractors. designed for wet and loose soils, reducing pressure on the soil.

– Half-track tractors.

What is important to consider before purchasing?

Traction classes and models

Each traction class corresponds to basic tractor models and their modifications. For example, walk-behind tractors belong to traction class 0.1, heavy walk-behind tractors and light self-propelled chassis belong to traction class 0.2.

Thus, when choosing a tractor, it is important to take into account its traction class, type of wheels and intended types of work to ensure effective use in agriculture or other areas.
